The Ritmos presentation has been developed based on the belief in the importance of music as a means of cultural expression.

 

The Ritmos presentation provides a bridge for increasing cultural awareness and can enhance classroom discussions regarding cultural awareness and Latino culture.

• Live demonstrations of rhythms such as the Cha-Cha-Cha, Bolero, Montuno and Plena

• Live demonstrations of Latin percussion instruments such as the Congas, Timbales and Bongo

• Discussion of the cultural history and influences of Latin rhythms

• Opportunities for audience participation

• Visual presentation of rhythm and instrument names
